Chaplaincy for the ‘Nones’

As the religious landscape in America as we know it continues to change, we’re faced with the practical question of how to make sure people on the cusp of that change are getting the resources of support that they need. Different chaplaincies have taken different approaches to serving the rising populations of ‘nones’–nonreligious, atheist, agnostic, Humanist, etc.–and other nontraditionally religious community members. Can those approaches be collaborative? Do they effectively deal with the nuances of our new spiritual identities? Is “chaplaincy” as we’ve always understood it growing outdated?

Watch the Tufts Humanist Chaplaincy panel discussion featuring experts from prison chaplaincy, hospice care, and university chaplaincy discuss these questions.
